Blue-green algae, also known as cyanobacteria, are macroscopic blue-green because of the largest number of blue colored bodies. Most blue-green algae have colloidal clothing on the outside of their cell walls, also called slime algae. Blue-green algae are the earliest prokaryotes that appear on Earth, and they are also the most basic organisms. We usually use the blue green algae sensor to measure the water BGA value.

Due to a large amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and other nutrients entering rivers, lakes, oceans and other water bodies through various ways, resulting in a eutrophic state of water bodies. One ecological disaster associated with eutrophication is a large-scale outbreak of phytoplankton algal blooms. Algal blooms formed by different phytoplankton groups will cause the water body to show blue, red, green, milky white and other different colors, and even some species will gather to form filaments or sheets, floating on the surface of the water body in a large area, causing a series of environmental problems such as lack of oxygen in the water body, which may lead to a large number of deaths of fish and other aquatic organisms in severe cases.

Daruifuno's Blue Green Algae Sensor uses a 590nm light source to excite the phycocyanin in the water to produce fluorescence, and measures the fluorescence intensity at 650nm to calculate the number of blue-green algae in the water. The BGA sensor adopts the principle of optics, is small in size, easy to operate, and has a fast detection speed. The Blue Green Algae Analyzer is suitable for rapid, frequent and continuous measurements in the field.
