In sewage treatment, the energy required for aeration accounts for about 60% of the total energy consumption. Under the increasingly stringent safety regulations, controlling the energy consumption during the aeration process is the key to energy saving in factories. Some survey results show that electricity can be saved when controlling air volume using dissolved oxygen as an indicator. Therefore, air volume control through high-precision monitoring and maintenance of dissolved oxygen concentration is a significant energy-saving method for aeration systems. For factories, a set of online dissolved oxygen analyzers with fast response and low equipment maintenance costs are crucial to saving energy consumption. It is relatively common to use aerobic microorganisms to treat industrial wastewater, and aerobic microorganisms must decompose organic matter into carbon dioxide, water, and nitrates under aerobic conditions. In the activated sludge process for treating industrial wastewater, the amount of dissolved oxygen (DO) is usually measured to appropriately adjust the oxygen of microorganisms. Generally, industrial wastewater does not contain dissolved oxygen and is often aerated with the help of various aerators to supply oxygen to microorganisms. The role of dissolved oxygen not only provides the formation of activated sludge, but also provides the oxidation of cell materials themselves and the metabolism of microorganisms to oxidize and decompose organic matter. When treating industrial wastewater using the activated sludge method, the dissolved oxygen in the aeration zone is generally controlled at 2-4 mg/L. Dissolved oxygen that is too high or too low will affect the metabolism of microorganisms and reduce the water treatment effect. The dissolved oxygen in the anaerobic tank of sewage treatment is controlled below 0.2mg/L, the dissolved oxygen in the anoxic tank is controlled at 0.2~0.5mg/L, and the dissolved oxygen in the aerobic tank is controlled at 2~4mg/L. Dissolved oxygen control in anoxic tanks can be controlled by adding a stirring device, controlling backflow or installing an appropriate aeration device.
